At Frost Elementary School, we believe that consistent attendance is key to student success. Regular participation in class helps students stay on track academically, socially and emotionally. Here’s what you need to know about our attendance procedures and tips to ensure your child is present and prepared to learn each day. Reporting Absences If your child is unable to attend school due to illness or other reasons, please follow these steps: Notify the School: Contact the attendance office by calling (847) 803-4812 or emailing [email protected] before the school day begins. Provide a Reason: When reporting an absence, include the reason, such as illness, appointment or family emergency. If your child is ill, specify any symptoms. Doctor’s Notes: If your child has a medical appointment or illness lasting three days or more, please provide a doctor’s note when they return to school. Frost Elementary School is a public school in Mount Prospect, Illinois, that serves more than 400 kindergarten through fifth grade students. Named for the American poet, Robert Frost (1874-1963), the elementary school is dedicated to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student is empowered to achieve their fullest potential. Our school is committed to academic excellence, social-emotional growth, and the development of lifelong learners. Students attend the district’s Holmes Middle School after graduating from Frost. Online Student Registration

18-19 STUDENT REGISTRATION Beginning April 23, all students who will attend CCSD21 schools for the 2018-2019 school year will be able to register online. This includes currently-enrolled students who will be returning for the 18-19 school year, incoming kindergarten students, and any student new to CCSD21. The online registration portal is managed by InfoSnap, a branch of PowerSchool which manages our Student Information System and Parent Portal. Determine which link to click below if your child is new to CCSD21 or a returning student. *Note: One InfoSnap account can be used to manage registrations for all students in one family. An account used to enroll a new incoming kindergarten student in February can be used to register older siblings returning for the 18-19 school year. The Parent’s Guide to Robert Frost

Bicycles/Skateboards/Rollerblades/Scooters Bicycle riding is not permitted on school grounds between 8:30 am and 3:45 pm. When students ride their bicycles to school, they are expected to dismount at the edge of the school property and walk their bikes to the bike racks located on the South side of the school. Scooters may be ridden to school but must be locked up at the bike rack as they are not permitted in the classrooms. In addition, students riding scooters to school must dismount and walk them while on school property. Kindergarten students are not permitted to ride bicycles to school; first and second-grade students are discouraged from doing the same. Students who ride their bikes are expected to follow proper safety procedures and lock their bikes to the bike racks using proper chains and locks.
