We hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable winter break!

School resumes tomorrow, Tuesday, January 5. As we are still following an Adaptive Pause, we look forward to seeing all students virtually.

Return to in-person instruction for in-person students

The district continues to plan for the return of in-person students to in-person instruction later this month. We continue to monitor local COVID infection data and are cautiously optimistic that it will be safe to welcome the students in our in-person track back to school on Tuesday, January 19th. Students in the Distance Learning Academy will continue learning virtually, even when in-person instruction for in-person students resumes.

Our local data shows positivity rates just at or below 9% for each of the last seven days. Cases per 100K, while still high, are significantly lower than rates reported in November and December. Of course we know that there is a lag time in COVID exposure to developed illness and that we may not yet have begun to see any spike that may occur after holiday celebrations. Our great hope is that we’ll maintain and/or continue to see a steady improvement in the current data.

As students resume remote instruction tomorrow morning, we will resume the daily updating of our District COVID Dashboard and ask that parents continue to keep their school offices updated as to the health status of their children. The district’s ability to have a full understanding of the level of exposure or illness will assist us in confidently resuming in-person instruction as planned on January 19th.
